What is your educational background?
I graduated with a degree in government at University of California, Sacramento in 2017.

In which schools are you in currently serving?
John Cabrillo, Susan B. Anthony, John Still and John Sloat Elementary schools.

Why did you choose to do a year of AmeriCorps service?
I wanted to do a year service with AmeriCorps to learn more about non-profit organizations. I believe that AmeriCorps will be a great experience for me.

Favorite moment in the classroom so far?
My favorite moment in the classroom was when one 6th grader said that he wanted to be a 5th grade again so he can have food literacy classes for two more years.   

What is the most interesting fruit and/or vegetable you’ve tried this year?
One of the interesting fruits I tried was figs. I really like it.

How have you grown, or what skills are you stretching into?
I have become a little bit comfortable speaking in front of people. I also learned to voice my opinion.  

What do you plan to do with the skills you gain at Food Literacy Center?
I will continue to practice speaking and leading a large group during program session.
