The Farm to Fork Speakers Series will host an exploration of how soil and farm health impact human health to celebrate World Food Day. The event will be headlined by Daphne Miller, a medical doctor and author of several books including Farmacology, which moves “beyond the simple concept of “food as medicine” and introduces us to the critical idea that it’s the farm where that food is grown that offers us the real medicine.” Farmacology chronicles Daphne’s ventures in to the practices that make for healthy farm products, and the insights she drew to human health based on her experience as a medical practitioner.

Professors Bruce German and Kate Scow will share the stage with Daphne to present scientific perspectives on (respectively) soil microbiology and the gut microbiome, and the panel discussion and audience questions will be facilitated by Prof Tom Tomich.
