Tune in KVIE’s “Studio Sacramento” on Friday, July 6, from 7:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. to watch an interview with Joanne Neft and Laura Kenny, authors of the cookbooks The Art of Real Food and Placer County Real Food.

Host Scott Syphax will ask questions, invite opinions, and seek answers for the topic of eating locally.

A local food advocate, Neft opened the first Foothill farmers’ market 20 years ago and played an instrumental role in the birth of the Mountain Mandarin Festival. Kenny attended California Culinary Academy in San Francisco, and worked as a sous chef at Laurel Restaurant and Bar as well as a chef at Persimmon Café. The pair teamed up to write the two cookbooks that celebrate farm fresh, local and sustainable foods.
