Kids Who Cook Make Healthier Food Choices
Forget happy meals, kids can and will love fruits and vegetables when they’re helping their parents prepare meals. A study by the University of Alberta’s School of Public Health found that when kids help their parents in the kitchen, they are more likely to eat and enjoy fruits and vegetables than kids who don’t help prepare meals.
Researchers surveyed fifth grade students in 151 schoold across Alberta, Canada. They found that in general, kids prefer fruits to vegetables, but those who help prepare meals are more likely to enjoy both. Read more about the study on Science Daily.
