Fish Nuggets and Carrots
We made this recipe with our kids this week. The fish we used was
courtesy of Passmore Ranch. Thanks for the donation!
You can now purchase this fish and have it delivered to your
door! Even better? Passmore Ranch will make a donation to
California Food Literacy Center for every box you order. Just
type in the code “veggie” when you order!
Ingredients:
1-2 Tablespoons of olive oil
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 lbs. fresh sturgeon, fileted and cubed
1/4 teaspoon each salt and black pepper
4 carrots, sliced in thin coins
1 zucchini, cubed
1-2 teaspoons soy sauce
Instructions for parents/teachers:
Cube fish and cut vegetables. Heat oil in a wok over medium high
heat.
Instructions for kids:
Place flour and sturgeon cubes into a large zip lock bag, seal,
and shake until the fish is lightly coated. Ask an adult to help
pour the fish into the hot wok. Allow the fish to cook on one
side for 2-3 minutes before stirring. Ask an adult to help you
add carrots and zucchini to pan. Cook an additional 2-3 minutes.
Add soy sauce to the pan and stir.
