Celebrate National Nutrition Month with Tasty Easter Recipes!

March of 1973 marked the first National Nutrition Week and only seven years later, the week was expanded to a month. Every year National Nutrition Month has a different theme, and this year’s is “Savor the Flavor of Eating Right.”

By taking time to enjoy food traditions and appreciate the pleasures, flavors, and experiences that nutritious and flavorful foods bring to our lives, we can all savor the flavor of eating right! For more information on National Nutrition Month, click here.

Although National Nutrition Month is coming to an end, one of the biggest food traditions of the month is still ahead! Easter is traditionally spent with family and loved ones, and one of the biggest parts of the day is the meal. Bring your favorite dish to the table to share, or try a new twist on the old classics with these recipes:

Asparagus Salad with Tahini Dressing from Naturally Ella is a great choice for an Easter lunch!

For a new take on deviled eggs, try this Green Eggs and Ham recipe that adds avocado and prosciutto to an Easter staple.

These Stuffed Brussels Sprouts are a great choice to reinvent stuffed mushrooms or plain vegetable side dish.

Try these Almond Rosemary Biscuits from Sacramento Natural Foods Co-op instead of plain rolls!

Serve your Easter ham with an Orange Glaze, Cranberry and Apricot Chutney, or Sweet and Spicy Mustard for a punched up flavor!
