  What is your educational background?
I graduated from Sacramento State University with a Bachelor of
Arts in Nutrition and Food, and I’m currently working on my
  Masters Degree in Nutrition.
In which schools are you currently serving?
Bret Harte, Leataata Floyd, John Still, and John Sloat Elementary
  schools.
Why did you choose to do a year of AmeriCorps
  service?
I’m a nutrition major, so I was looking for something
nutrition-related. After reviewing the Food Literacy Center
website, it seemed like an organization that was fun to work for
and one that truly makes a difference in the community. It turned
out to be both of those things!
Favorite moment in the classroom so far?
My favorite moment so far was going into a new school and seeing
the kids get excited when they found out they get to help cook
  every week.
What is the most interesting fruit and/or vegetable
  you’ve tried this year?
  Cactus!
How have you grown, or what skills are you stretching
  into?
I’m more confident presenting in front of a large group and I
  have gained classroom management skills.
What do you plan to do with the skills you gain at Food
  Literacy Center?
I will take these skills with me in my career in the future and
continue to be confident in my work!
