Post Food Literacy Center
Intern during class

We wrapped up our final food literacy class of the 2021-2022 school year!

Food Literacy Center remains committed to reaching more students, and this year we did just that!

Food literacy classes expanded to five NEW schools in Robla School District and are su-pear grapeful to now be serving 13 schools in Sacramento!

Our program staff, volunteers, and interns provided cooking and nutrition classes to 747 students this past academic year! In our classes, students learned fruit and vegetable appreciation, how to read nutrition labels, acquired new cooking skills -  empowering them to make healthy food choices and have FUN.

The children we serve are food and nutrition insecure, which is a form of toxic stress. When students attend our program, this resets their day, resulting in a positive change in attitude and behavior.  Our program sends a message to our students that their lives and their health matters!

Your support has allowed us to reach 747 students this school year. Lettuce continue to get kids excited about fruits and veggies by supporting our mission!
