Plant Parts Cafe

Plant Parts Cafe pops up each first Friday throughout the summer, serving fresh, seasonal veggie-forward snacks, sandwiches, soup, salad, and mocktails. During cafe hours, guests can also wander our future farm space, play Cornhole or other games, or enjoy other activities with kids. Guests can also show support for food literacy education by shopping our curated selection of proprietary veggie-forward spices, limited edition swag, and other goodies.

Each first Friday now through August from 4:30 PM — 7:00 PM
Friday, June 2 | Friday, July 7 | Friday, August 4

Location: Food Literacy Center, 401A McClatchy Way, Sacramento, CA 95818

PARKING: Parking is available next door at Leataata Floyd Elementary School and Health Professions High School. Look for the sidewalk signs for parking and walking directions to Food Literacy Center.

Food Literacy Center is an educational facility that sits on 2.5 acres of urban land between The Mill at Broadway and Seavey Circle. Behind the center is a 1-acre plot of land that is being transformed into an urban teaching and learning farm that, during specific times, will be open to the public.

These pop-up cafe nights are one of the ways we hope to share our favorite kid-tested recipes and new home with the public while also raising awareness and funds for our students. Plant Parts Cafe features recipes that we also make with students in food literacy classes, highlighting how easy, fun, and delicious it is to eat fresh, locally grown, seasonal produce!
