Our Kids Spring Farmers Market will be a hybrid drive-through and walk-up for students and families this year, but the goal is the same–set up our students to practice food literacy at home. It’s important to get fresh vegetables to our students who are food and nutrition insecure. They’ll go home with a 10 pound box of fresh fruits and vegetables thanks to Nugget Markets. Produce will be sourced from local farms.

Students will also receive a set of kids cooking tools and recipes so they can cook at home with their family. When our students bring fresh veggies home, they can continue practicing the healthy habits that we helped them develop.

The Kids Spring Farmers Market will take place May 26 at a Sacramento City Unified School District campus in South Sacramento.
