Food Literacy Dinner in the Garden
May 20th, 2013

Join John and Peg Tomlinson Poswall for a garden tour by John and a spectacular dinner by Peg, made from the best organic foods Placer County has to offer, at their home on Saturday, August 3.

Start with a guided tour of the Oriental Garden, featured on the National Garden Conservancy tour of American gardens. With wine in hand, stroll through the Islamic arched pergola to the Mexican garden nearby. Enter the Fountain Garden lined with 400 feet of Italian Cyprus and walk up to the Italian Garden. There you will be greeted with hors d’oeuvres and wine under the grape vines and olive trees. As you approach the rose garden, the house is in sight. Finally, you will be greeted at the main house and taken to the upper decks for dinner. A night cap under the stars on the tower will end the evening.

Each guest will go home with a gift basket that includes a new cookbook, gourmet vanilla beans, and other food literacy treats.

This event is limited to 24 people at $250 each. One couple may choose to stay overnight in the main guest suite for an additional $1500; a second couple can choose from the Mexican or Indian suites for $1,000. Each will enjoy breakfast in the morning, poolside.

All proceeds go to Sacramento’s own California Food Literacy Center, committed to a healthy, sustainable tomorrow and educating children about healthy food choices. To purchase tickets, visit http://poswallgardendinner.eventbrite.com/. The sale ends August 1 so RSVP for this wonderful event today!
