A Week of Food Literacy Fun

October is full of food literacy fun! Join us for the following events.

October 22 at Ten22

Join us as we celebrate local restaurant Ten22, whose commitment to seasonal food expresses a shared value with our nonprofit. Chef Jay is one of Sacramento’s best chefs, and has been to food literacy class to help teach our kids.

100% of ticket sales from this event will benefit our food literacy programs. In fact, if we sell out, we could raise enough money to move into two new schools! Help by buying tickets today. They’re only $40!

Food Day

Food Day is a national celebration of our food system. Join us on October 24 as part of this nationwide campaign to encourage cooking with kids. We’ll be at California State University Sacramento for a series of panels and discussions around childhood obesity and food literacy. Join us! A schedule of events is here.

Healthy Halloween

This Saturday, bring the kids down to Midtown for a FREE Halloween fair! On October 26 from 3 to 6 p.m. we are taking part in the Midtown Business Association’s Healthy Halloween event.

Make chocolate-cinnamon spiced popcorn. Play squash bowling. Dip caramel apples. Create a face for your very own pumpkin. We’ve got lots of fun, healthy activities and snacks for kids of all ages!
