USDA Issues New School Lunch Nutrition Standards

Excellent news! WebMD reports that for the first time in 15 years, the National School Lunch Program has raised nutrition standards. This means that children will have access to more fruits and vegetables, smaller and healthier portions,  more whole grains, and only low fat and skimmed milk will be served. Additionally, schools will get an extra six cents per meal from the federal government. Read more about it on WebMD.
