Congress Fights Attempts to Make School Lunches Healthier

The Washington Post reported that the USDA proposed new standards for school lunches that included more fruits and vegetables, more whole grains and less sodium. However, food companies that produce frozen pizzas for schools, the salt industry, and potato growers lobbied Congress to block that legislature and instead call pizza a “vegetable.”
