Learn how composting helps to reduce food waste and enrich the soil! The Compost Awareness festival will be held at Fremont Park in Sacramento on Wednesday, May 9, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The festival is a fundraiser for GRAS (Green Restaurants Alliance Sacramento), a coalition dedicated to a sustainable food community in California’s Capitol City, as well as a free educational event for adults and children. Limited tasting tickets can be purchased in advance for $25. The tasting will be provided by GRAS restaurants such as The Waterboy, Tuli Bistro, Selland Family and Hot Italian.

We will have a booth there to plant seeds with kids (and adults)! Come say hi and plant your favorite fruits or vegetables.
