School may be out for summer, but like arugula, food literacy is in season year-round!  Whether you crave the outdoors, or prefer the air-conditioned cool of Sacramento’s various libraries, Food Literacy Center has something for you.  Join us―it’ll be peachy!

Family Cooking Classes

Spend a week night or a Saturday morning with us at our free cooking classes in collaboration with Oak Park Sol and Oak Park Farmers Market!  Get ready to hone your knife skills with the whole family while making yummy summertime recipes at the beautiful Oak Park Sol outdoor kitchen!

Food Literacy at the Library

Bring the whole family out to one of many libraries throughout Sacramento County. Food Literacy Center will team up with the Sacramento Public Library to offer free cooking and tasting classes at select library locations.  From making an edible garden to photographing your food, get ready to use your melon for a whole new approach to recipes!

10th Annual Capay Tomato Festival

Join us at the  Capay Organics family farm in July! Taste heirloom and cherry tomatoes fresh from the fields at the 10th Annual Capay Tomato Festival.  If tomato-inspired arts and crafts with Food Literacy Center isn’t enough, come enjoy live music from 3 bands, delicious local food and wine, tractor-tram tours of the farm, face-painting for the kids, and much more!
