Veggie Voyagers Field Trip

Food Literacy Center is excited to invite schools and expanded learning programs to join for a food adventure on our Veggie Voyagers Field Trip!

Our mission is simple: inspire kids to eat their vegetables! These free, grant-funded field trips are a joyful way to introduce students and their families to fresh, local produce, meet farmers and learn healthy eating habits.

Cost: $500 per program
Cost Includes: All program fees include cooking supplies, take-home materials, and food costs.
Scholarships: Limited number of scholarships available for Title-1 Elementary Schools.
Class Size: Up to 32 students, Age Level: 4th Grade to 6th Grade
Program Length: 90 minutes

Cost: Free. Funded through grants, limited number available.
Transportation: Food Literacy Center will arrange transportation to and from your
school site.
Location: Oak Park Famers Market located at McClatchy Park.
Program Length: 90 minute field trip with 30 minutes of travel time. Between 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM

What to Expect:

Together, we’ll taste veggie-forward recipes, connect with local farmers, and discover community resources like CalFresh/EBT and Market Match. Each visit weaves together academic support, wellness education, and family enrichment all in one unforgettable experience.
