Alicia Brown
Communications and Outreach Coordinator

Alicia is passionate about health in the built environment and sustainable food systems. They joined Food Literacy Center in 2025 to support the Oak Park Farmers Market before coming into their current role as a Communications and Outreach Coordinator. With nearly a decade of experience in community engagement, nonprofit management, and high-quality program delivery, she is an expert at aligning funding to community needs and bringing people together around shared goals and values. In a previous role, they worked with several of the schools Food Literacy Center serves!

Alicia’s journey as a Food Adventurer began in college, when she abruptly discovered that she didn’t know how to cook. Since then, they’ve enjoyed testing their creativity in the kitchen and sharing simple, healthy recipes with friends and family. They believe good, clean food should be accessible to everyone, and are inspired by Food Literacy Center’s work to make fruits and vegetables more approachable.

Alicia holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Policy and Planning from UC Davis. They are a performing member of Sacramento Taiko Dan, serve as a volunteer for the Taiko Community Alliance, and speak Japanese.
